Angry Messi snubs Maradona over FIFA ban

Argentina legend, Diego Marado­na, is at the centre of a stormy controversy trailing the recent four-match international ban by FIFA on Lionel Messi, just hours before Ar­gentine were due to take on Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier.
It was also reported by journalist Gonzo Stupenengo that Maradona in­fluenced the suspension, an accusation the 1986 World Cup winner strongly denies.
“It hurts me when they say that I had an influence in Messi getting suspend­ed for four matches. I swear to God I knew nothing.
Maradona claimed that efforts to talk to messi on the issue have been rebuffed by the Barcelona striker.
“I’ve called Messi a lot of times to talk but never got a response back.
It was gathered that the Argentine FA will lodge a formal appeal to get the ban overturned.
