FG extends 2016 budget implementation to May 5
The Accountant-General
of the Federation (AGF), Alhaji Idris Ahmed has issued a Circular
extending the tenure of the Capital elements of the 2016 Budget until
May 5, 2017 or the passage of the 2017 Budget, whichever is the earliest
The Ministry of Finance, in a statement in Abuja urged Federal
Ministries, Departments and Agencies are hereby to take note of the
content of the Circular.
It can be recalled that the Federal Government had said it has so for
released the sum of N1 trillion to its Ministries, Department and
Agencies for the implementation of the capital component of the 2016
budget the amount the highest released in the history of the country.
The ministry added that the release of the funds would enable the
government to achieve its objective of creating jobs and stimulating
economic activities.
