RIWAMA Administrator commends Wike on road project
Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) Sole Administrator, Mr Felix Obuah, has commended Governor Nyesom Wike for initiating the “Operation Leave the Road” programme with a view to keeping the streets and roads safe, clean and healthy.
Obuah in a statement issued by his aide, Mr Jerry Needam, described the directive as another bold step aimed at restoring the Garden City status of Port Harcourt, the state capital.
He asserted that the programme would help to make Port Harcourt and its environs clean and safe at all times.
Obuah, who is also the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, lauded the programme for its timeliness as it aims to complement the aesthetic beauty of the state which is currently carrying out activities as part of her Golden Jubilee celebration.
The RIWAMA boss regretted that the previous administration failed to discourage indiscriminate trading on the streets because it lacked the political will to do so, adding that Governor Wike had taken the bull by the horn to bring sanity in governance. The Authority
