Govs visit to China will add value to our economy - Al-Makura
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has said that the
recent visit by some state governors to China would add value to the
economy of the country.
Al-Makura who spoke with newsmen on his arrival to the country said
that the visit has afforded his state the opportunity to attract
investment in the areas of power, agriculture, real estate management
and the media industry.
A statement signed by the special assistant to Governor Al-Makura on
media and publicity, Ahmed Tukur, said that Chinese investors will in
the next few weeks visit Nasarawa to fine-tune modalities in the areas
of coal exploration for power generation to the state and beyond.
He added that other areas to seal another deal is the 13 thousand
hectares in Gurku area of Karu local government where estates will be
developed to cushion the population explosion along the gate way to
Abuja.
The Governor also explained that as part of the visit, his entourage
visited the NTA StarTimes headquarters in Beijing and discussed on how
to increase facilities at the state-owned television station, Nasarawa
Broadcasting Service (NBS).
He said that as government desirous of improving the lot of the people
of the state, his administration was able to attract close to N350
billion investment in the last few years in government-The Authority
