Kaduna police parade 18 kidnappers, armed robbers
Kaduna Police Command yesterday paraded 18 suspects for kidnapping,
armed robbery and other related crimes in the metropolis and environs.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Agyole Abbeh, while briefing
journalists explained that the suspects comprising seven kidnappers,
six armed robbers, a fraudster and four others were arrested in the
state based on tip-off.
Pointing out that some of the suspected criminals were actually
arrested while committing the crime, Abbeh said with the commitment of
his men at the command, the rate of crime had considerably reduced in
the state.
He urged residents and citizens of Kaduna to volunteer information for
criminal hideouts and activities in the state as according to him most
of the arrests were based on intelligence from locals in the state.
Speaking further, the Commissioner disclosed that the Command also
recovered five Toyota, two Honda cars and one locally made pistol as
well as three cutlasses from the suspects.
Also recovered were 24 number plate of cars, one locally made pistol
and three cutlasses from the suspects, the commissioner revealed.
The commissioner who boasted that the state must remain safe for
business to thrive and as such “Kaduna must near crime free society.”
said “the command had mapped out crime preventive measures to check the
crime rate in the state.
“Our problem is information. Once we have information, our response
iswithin 20minutes.In fact, we have responded within nine minutes to
distressed calls within the city centre,” Agyole said. -The Authority
