Facebook launches programme to equip Kenya SMEs with digital skills
The training is free and open to Small and Medium-Sized businesses interested and will be available as 4-5 hour workshops, with the first to be held in the week of September 23, 2019 in Nairobi.
Speaking at the launch, Mercy Ndegwa, Facebook’s Head of Public Policy, East Africa said, “Entrepreneurship plays an integral role in driving Kenya’s economy and providing economic opportunities for Kenyans.”
“Globally, we have more than 1.6 billion people connected to small or medium-sized businesses on Facebook. We are excited to be launching Boost with Facebook in Kenya, enabling local businesses to use social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram to unlock new business opportunities, and compete at a Pan-African and global level.”
Boost with Facebook will provide learning and skills development for SMEs, empowering them to thrive in a digital economy. It also works as an interactive, audience-curated website that houses and organizes the many services, resources, and training available to SMEs, job seekers, and community leaders across Facebook’s family of apps and services.
