Yong, the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development
Organization (UNIDO), and Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister for Trade
and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire, exchanged letters on the commitment of
the country to mobilize a financial contribution or € 120,000 to support
the programming phase of the Program for Country Partnership (PCP) for
the country.This
financial contribution will facilitate the completion of the PCP
Project Document, the start of the implementation phase of the PCP, and
the resource mobilization process. It also marks the strong national ownership of the PCP and catalyzes the mobilization of partners around it. The
objective of the PCP for Côte d'Ivoire is to operationalize the
inclusive and sustainable industrial development of the country; to accompany the National Development Plan (NDP 2016-2020) and the Government Social Program (PSG); to
contribute to the development of conditions that favor the emergence of
Côte d'Ivoire on the basis of sustainable industrialization and to
mobilize partnerships and impact investment. The
signing ceremony was part of the 7th Forum on Inclusive and Sustainable
Industrial Development (ISID), which took place on the first day of the
18th Session of the UNIDO General Conference. www.unido.org
