[Nigeria] Coronavirus: CJPAN Applauds Sanwo-Olu, Urges Governor To Be More Active

 
Following the braeak-out of Coronavirus disease in Lagos and the efforts of the amiable governor of the State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Celebrity Journal Publishers’ Association of Nigeria (CJPAN) during an emergency meeting to discuss about the menace and to contribute it’s quota through awareness has urged governor Sanwo-Olu to be more proactive over the case.
Speaking at CJPAN’s Secretariat on Friday, the President, Mr. Joshua Uloko said;
“We are aware Lagos State government has concluded plan to monitor 349 people in the State over coronavirus and those being monitored we gathered are from arrivals from endemic countries, as posted by the Health Commissioner Akin Abayomi on his Twitter account on Saturday, we really appreciate the efforts of our hard working governor and we implore him to do more. As concerned residents of Lagos, we have our relatives scattered across the state and we keep in contact with them day by day to educate them the more.”
The Public Relations Director of CJPAN, Mr. Johnson Adegboyega also kudos the governor Sanwo-Olu’s unrelenting efforts;
“Even coming from friends in abroad where this Coronavirus epidemic started, they can’t but applaud Sanwo-Olu’s efforts. Some European countries we gathered still allow immigrants to enter in easily without taking any preventive measures, but seeing the steps being taken by the governor, it is quite obvious he has the interest if Lagosians at heart and we want other governors to emulate this. “
It was reported that the state has not recorded any confirmed case other than the index case of the Italian currently in isolation at Yaba, Lagos.
The Commissioner for Health had said about 349 Persons of interest from endemic countries are under follow up and also listed the challenges facing government in handling the task at hand. Which include “incorrect phone numbers of some contacts, language barrier in speaking with some contacts as some contacts are with foreign numbers which are not accessible.
Training of stakeholders and awareness on #COVID19 has started in earnest
